About spadesonline.co

spadesonline.co is a free spades game you play in your browser. It is made to be calm and easy to read: big cards, one game in the middle of the screen and nothing to sign up for. It works on phones, tablets and computers.

The rules we use

The game follows the standard partnership rules described by Pagat.com and Bicycle: bids from 0 to 13, nil (±100), blind nil (±200) when your side is behind by 100 or more with a two-card exchange, spades broken before they are led, 10 points per trick bid, 1 per bag, minus 100 for 10 bags, game to 500 or 250.

The computer players

The computer plays your partner and both opponents. On easy it bids roughly and sometimes plays a random legal card. On medium it counts its tricks, bids nil with suitable hands, remembers which cards have gone and protects or attacks nil bids. On hard it also tries out many possible deals of the unseen cards before each play. It never looks at your cards.
