How cutthroat spades differs
- No partners: you play against all three computer players. Nobody helps you make your bid.
- Same scoring for each player: 10 points per trick bid if you make it, 1 point per extra trick (bag), minus 10 per trick bid if you fall short, ±100 for nil.
- Bags are counted for each player. Every 10 bags cost 100 points.
- No blind nil and no card passing, because there is no partner to swap with.
- Spades still have to be broken before they can be led.
Some groups also play that each player must beat the highest card in the trick if they can. We don’t use that rule. More in variants.
